I'm an average guy (yes guy, male. Common misconception seeing as I always have a female avatar~) who loves anime, manga, games (Of course this includes Touhou), and animals. I found out about Touhou not much longer than a few years ago from various friends and I'm glad I did... though I wish I knew about it earlier (How could I have lived my life up to that point without knowing about it?!?!). I'm not super knowledgeable on the series, but I do know a lot (Basically from games 6-13). I have played 1-5, but not enough to say I know everything about it due to lack of translations. I'm a fairly busy person with a lot of work (Gr. 12 Canada) and a job, so I'm not on too often. I try not to mess around in articles that are already created. This is because I'm afraid of messing something up ;^^ (excluding grammar corrections; that's something I can do no problem) Despite this, I've started creating various articles, correcting grammar, and adding information. If anything I do happens to be wrong, please feel free to correct me as you should.
I'm a generally kind person who is more literal in nature, but I try to be a little more joking and serious when the situation calls for it. The character's image in that there profile, Sakakibara Kouichi (from the anime series Another) is like my anime counterpart. We are literally almost the same in terms of personality and appearance. I'd do anything for the people I care for, I do above average in school, I take into account the consequences of my actions and accept my mistakes/flaws. One difference is I am socially awkward in the real world, not that outgoing, but I manage to find people I can get along with and someone I can get along with for the rest of my life <3 Also I'm half blind, but I can live with it, I have for so many years. ~Top 30 Touhou Characters~

1. Momiji Inubashiri
Momiji may be one of the most minor of minor characters, but is often seen throughout fanon. The main reason I love her is that she is a wolf wielding a sword with an awesome ensemble. I love wolves by the way~ In fanon she's usually portrayed as a victim and full of moe, which is cute, but I like to think of her as a more serious and headstrong leader. Here's hoping for her return in a PoDD/PoFV-esque game!
2. Kyouko Kasodani
One thing no one takes note of about Kyouko is why she joined the Myouren crew. She did it because she wants to LIVE. She didn't want to disappear or die, so she joined them. Kinda depressing... Also, I never realized until recently just how similar she is to Misao Kusakabe. Misao is my all-time favourite female anime character, so it's only natural Kyouku makes it up there in Touhou~ Even more so, she's paired with Momiji a lot; now, that's just dumb luck there (not that I'm excessively into pairings). She's becoming more popular it would seem as she and Mystia formed their own little group. I still say Kyouko sticks with Momiji, and Mystia with Wriggle, but they can be friends... just friends.
3. Yuyuko Saigyouji
I initially didn't like nor dislike Yuyuko, but that was back when I knew little about her. Yuyuko's backstory is the most depressing and great in my opinion. Even to this day her memory is basically lost, and the events in TH7 after hearing of her story actually made me feel bad for having to take her out. In Seasonal Dream Vision, there's a comic about her remembering a bit and being with Yukari which I WISH was canon, but SDV isn't considered canon, unfortunately. She's incredibly powerful, but acts like an air-head; under that act is a very intelligent and intuitive being.
4. Sakuya Izayoi
Sakuya, Sakuya, Sakuya... where to begin? She can control time, the ability I'd love to have more than anything, and can manipulate space, which is a nice effect as well. Her personality is by far my favourite from any other character. Being a maid makes all of her ordeals that much more hilarious. Even if she may have been a villain in the past, she has all the right intentions and will even help those who it seems as though she'd rather not. Very strong for a human, heck, she gets points for being more difficult than the final boss (Remi) of EoSD for me. She's very hardworking and loyal, and as much as I'd like to meet her, I'd likely not get along overly well with her ;^^
5. Yamame Kurodani
Another character that isn't exactly popular would be Ms. Kurodani here. I HATE bugs, same goes for spiders, but Yamame doesn't "bug" me very much (bad puns are fun). Anywho, She has a ribbon in her hair, which is generally fetish No. 1 for me, and a ponytail, fetish No. 2. Aside from her look, can't say I love her too much. Her character is pretty odd considering she lives in the forgotten hell. She doesn't attack humans on instinct and is actually a very tolerable, popular, and smart youkai. After reading Symposium, I've learned to like her a bit more than usual~
6. Marisa Kirisame
I really overlooked Marisa, and I feel bad for it. She really is an interesting character. She's fun, crazy, brave, friendly, funny, and more. She's also strong, as one would expect from a main character. Her design is ok, not great, but her personality is enough for me to like her as much as I do. I main her in the games Sakuya is not playable in which is most, unfortunately...). Marisa is known to not really like humans, despite being one, which is why she spends a lot of her time studying and training through magic. That's another thing I really like about her; she's dedicated.
7. Reimu Hakueri
Reimu is hilarious in almost every scene she opens her mouth, even if she's being serious, her words are just too much~ She takes her job seriously and takes responsibility for most of her actions... sort of. Though she hunts Youkai, she's really friends with many of them. I feel as though Reimu doesn't want to HUNT them, but rather make friends and live the rest of her life happily~ Granted she feels "it's her duty" to stop youkai from doing harm and all. She is human after all... I do, however, play as Marisa more often than Reimu simply because Marisa is much more fun to play as to me. Reimu just seems too "cheap" to me (homing abilities), but it's still fun to play as her if not just for the dialogue.
8. Komachi Onozuka
I can relate to Komachi on so many different levels. Komachi may be "lazy", but she is one of the most intellectual characters in the series. However, she will only take action if she's interested, much like me. I absolutely love Komachi's design and outlook on things. If possible, she'll take the easy way out of a situation she'd rather not be in. Though she seems laid back, best not be getting on her bad side as she is strong, but her boss may beat both you and her subordinate~ She's a very social person, which can be good or bad depending on your own personality. Personally, I'd love to talk with her.
9. Shinki
I don't really know what to say... She's awesome. That's it, really. She also has some pretty badass wings, in fact, they're the most badass wings in the history of wings (in my opinion). I also do support the theory on her and Alice, just in case you were curious. She's one of the strongest characters if you think about it. Not only just in Makai, but if she were to go to Gensokyo, I think she'd still fare well against quite a few others. I really like her clothing and hair style, but I also like her motherly personality given through fanon. In canon it's hard to say how she acts and what she's like, so I can only base her personality off fanon.
10. Mystia Lorelei
This character is surprisingly popular I noticed. She appears in various comics, and I've yet to see a single one revolving around her that I did not like. In canon she's a carefree youkai living by normal youkai standards (eating humans, sleeping, etc.) Since she loves to sing and does it often I'm always reminded of her when listening to a vocal arrange of a Touhou song, along with Kyouko & the Prismriver Sisters. She's so high on my list for personal reasons. Mystia is what got me into Touhou. My friend's ringtone was Night Bird, her stage theme, and I went from there after looking it up~
11. Rumia
Fairly weak for a youkai of darkness, and much like Mystia, she lives by the normal youkai standards. It's said her power is released if her ribbon is removed which makes for some great backstory and fanon interpretations. Also similar to Mystia in the sense that she's pretty carefree. I mainly like her for her unique ability of controlling darkness as well as a very interesting past or story (the ribbon).
12. Keine Kamishirasawa
Yes, I can spell her last name flawlessly. Keine has the amazing ability to delete history and re-create/change history in her Were-Hakutaku form. She is a human being, but also a Were-Hakutaku. As a human she teaches children and is generally nice towards everyone. She is feared as in Hakutaku form, but isn't a bad person at heart (ask Mokou~). Keine's drive to protect the ones she loves is why I like her so much. That and her spell cards are awesome.
13. Flandre Scarlet
She's almost always portrayed as a devilish destroyer of worlds, but I believe at heart she just wants a friend or something to play with (MARISA). She sure does have the power to destroy everything, but to think she would do that at her age and cuteness level, I doubt. If anything like that were to happen, it would be an accident~ I love her colourful wings, even if they aren't real.
14. Nue Houjuu
I honestly don't know why I like Nue... I just do. I suppose some of it has to do with her attitude. She kinda does what she wants and doesn't think about the consequences it may bring. She's just a fun person in general. Once again, I can't really even tell myself why I like her ;^^
15. Parsee Mizuhashi
Parsee, Parsee, Parsee... I just recently started loving this character, and I owe it all to THIS. After viewing it, I loved the lyrics and whatnot, I read up more on Parsee and she's just a really interesting character that I never bothered looking after. She has a fairly unique design too, I personally prefer the ponytail haired Parsee, but that's just me. She's in desperate need of a hug. In truth, I have a feeling being around her would be rather dull or intolerable, but it's worth a shot.
16. Tenshi Hinanawi
Tenshi kinda came out of the blue here. I don't really know why I like her, I just do. she's certainly a unique character, granted she is similar to many in the sense that she just wants to screw around half the time. I really like her rainbow apron thing there and her hat~ Her theme has also grown on me a lot, as has her personality.
17. Suika Ibuki
I like to think Suika is just drinking her sorrows away and has a fairly traumatic past... not recall, but it would be interesting. After maining her in the Fighters, I began to like her more. Similar to Nue, she just wants to have fun and make friends. She's an alright person, but can easily get out of hand. She is INSANELY powerful... her ability also kicks some butt.
18. Shikieiki Yamaxanadu
Her name is a mouth full, just going to call her Yama. The Yama excels at lecturing, she's on par with Keine, but she's also very calm. Not in fanon, obviously, but in PoFV she's always got a smile on her face. She judges the dead to go to either heaven or hell, even in between. She's one of the most powerful characters if I can determine that correctly and she looks pretty badass.
19. Nitori Kawashiro
Nitori is an interesting character. Kappa are generally shy and keep to themselves and Nitori is no exception. Despite being shy, she tries to help the humans and other youkai out as much as she can. I find that key on her chest adorable and I love the backpack, oddly enough. Also, if you haven't noticed already, I love her hair. The twin-tail marble thing is always nice~
20. Yuuka Kazami
Speaking of which, Yuuka says hi, and don't you dare step on the flowers. Yuuka's a fairly intelligent and laid-back person, really. Only if you get on your bad side will she tear you apart. Her ability to utilize flowers like that is actually pretty awesome, and elegant. It looks nice... as does a nice Dual Spark to the face.
21. Seiga Kaku
Miss Seiga Nyan Nyan has wall hax and some of the best music in TD, which is good because the TD soundtrack wasn't exactly my favourite. Seiga's spellcards are some of the best to me, though Yoshika is there to help her out, I really love the magnetic orb thingie going on. Her design is quite nice too... how many times have I said that?
22. Chen (Yakumo)
She's just so darn cute. Fanon is the main reason I like her I guess, but I try to avoid speaking of fanon when selecting my favourite characters. Chen is an exception to this rule (as is Momiji)! For a stage 2 boss, her spell cards are also a bit tricky, then again, she is Ran's shikigami. She does appear again as an extra stage boss, so she's more powerful than one would think; of course, she has to be near Ran for her to unleash her power. Who cares, she's Chen, that's all we need.
23. Wriggle Nightbug
Here for more or less nostalgic reasons. I remember thinking Wriggle was a guy but was shocked when I heard she was a she. Her theme also just so happens to be my favourite and, not gonna lie, she doesn't look half-bad. Something about green...
24. Koakuma
Though I know she's supposed to be devilish and kind of a prankster, I just can't see her like that. Koakuma will always be a loving caring Library assistant to me. Her design, though simple, is pretty neat; especially those wing-ear things.
25. Kogasa Tatara
Like Nue, no bloody idea why I like Kogasa. My liking to her just kind of happened. I think it's because of her discoloured eyes. They just seem to look so nice. You also can't help but feel bad for her seeing as everyone just ignores her. DOn't disappear Kogasa, just don't...
26. Aya Shameimaru
I would like Aya more if I didn't see so much Momiji abuse. Like, really. PISS OFF, AYA. Aside from that, Aya is a really great character who even has her own fun little games. Speed is something I generally like in a character, and she has it. Tengu are my favourite group in Gensokyo, and Aya is a really popular character. What's not to love? The Momiji abuse, that's what.
27. Yukari Yakumo
Yukari should be higher on my list, I know, but I just can't really like her that much. Sure, she's incredibly strong and has a terrific character, but I don't know why, I just don't like her that much...
28. Mima
It's a family reunion. Marisa, Yuuka, and Mima all on one list. Mima is apparently the most popular character from the PC-98 era, and I can understand why. She's one of few characters who doesn't really want to give up. She was after Reimu's ying-yang orbs for the longest time. Her design honestly looks kinda silly, but she has a set of Sephiroth wings, so that balances it out. One of these days, I swear...
29. Utsuho Reiuji
Galaxy cape, 'nuff said. But, really. She has a god in her body and the power over nuclear fusion. That's pretty badass. My only dislike for her is that she doesn't have that much character. She seems to be "controlled" sort of, it's just odd to me.
30. Alice Margatroid
Alice, march straight back to Makai and tell your mother you love her. Now. That's all I want from Alice, even just mentioning Shinki would make me happy. But nope. Can't have that. Oh well, Alice is pretty great all around. Nothing to love tremendously or hate about her. She's pretty civilized ( a rare sight in Gensokyo).
To be perfectly honest, there's not a single character I dislike in the series except Kanako and Sanae.... I do enjoy the PC-98 series a lot, my knowledge on it has improved since way back when. The characters, though good, aren't as well developed in most cases, so it's hard for me to like them more than those on the list. Still nice though~ Besides, the only PC-98 characters that aren't listed that I did really like are Yumemi and Kana.
