Stage Walkthrough[]

  • The barrages in this stage, added to the layout make for a very slow stage.
  • The Grimoire's barrages change colors like this: Green→Red→Yellow→White→Black→Green and so on.
    • Your focus should be getting rid of the Grimoires first, to dispel their barrages.
    • This becomes easier from the 4th Player Phase when the Grimoires start aligning themselves in a clear line.
    • Each Barrage color corresponds to an element. Green is Wood, Red is Fire, Yellow is Earth, White is Metal and Black is Water (Don't Ask).
    • The Barrages don't have weird effects, so it's pretty much straightforward.
    • On Hard Mode, overlapping Barrages will severely limit your movement, so take note of that.
  • Defeating Kurumi isn't too difficult, actually.
    • Prioritize defeating her when she's at range. Dividing your forces will mess you up.
    • Her goons will start moving on the 6th Enemy Phase and Kurumi herself on the 7th. (All three will move on the 8th Enemy Phase on Lunatic)
    • Waiting for her to come at you is even a better idea if you don't mind spending several turns.
  • There are a couple of secret items on this stage.
  • Koakuma plainly hits hard and has a very damaging barrage to your defenses.
    • On Hard she will move straight down.
  • Patchouli, obviously, prefers attacking on a large range. Make use of Youmu and Keine to beat her up.
    • In fact they can also be safe from her barrage.
    • Rumia can take her Non-Directional Laser attack easily. Use her as a bait.
    • The maximum range of that attack is 6, so maybe Rumia won't be able to counter.
    • Patchouli's Spellcards actually add some weapons to her arsenal, extending her range as well.
    • She will also gain 10 power on each declaration.
  • Princess Undine severely lowers your defense, to the point where using a bomb to dispel the barrage is a good idea.
