I was thinking about making a page like this to coincide with the podcast on the same topic.

The reason for this is because I've looked at a lot of the guides that come up if you search for them, and I hate to say it, but most of them aren't good.

The reason for that is that most of the guides give way too much information too quickly. New players don't need to hear about 20 different characters, the synopsis to every game, art information, music, and videos. They do all of this while failing to tell a player how they can actually get the game and patch it to English.

If someone searches for Touhou with very little prior knowledge to this game, they have a good chance of finding their way to this website. What greets them is a wall of useful information for someone with a knowledge base, but what is practically useless for someone who doesn't know anything.

The beginner's page can have links to advanced guides that cover all the subtopics, but the page for new users needs to be straight and to the point.

I'm proposing making a page that will have somewhat prominent placement so that a new user can get a quick start without being overwhelmed.

Support - Good idea. I'm new to Touhou and I have no idea who most are. Powers38 Talk 23:43, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Ooh! I'm almost thinking about creating a real character page, or something with an image on it >.> with all the characters, that way we can hover over a certain character in the picture, see who they are, click on them, and then be transported to their page. After all, this wiki is trying to be more social and newbie friendly. --Imanie 23:49, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
